Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Recycling

As a responsible distributor of electrical and electronic equipment, Nexus Wholesale is committed to complying with the UK Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations. These regulations aim to reduce the environmental impact of electrical goods by encouraging reuse, recycling, and responsible disposal.

Our Responsibilities

Under the WEEE Regulations, Nexus Wholesale is required to:

  • Offer customers a free, like-for-like takeback service for old electrical products when purchasing a new equivalent item.
  • Ensure that all returned WEEE is handled and recycled by authorised treatment facilities in accordance with UK legislation.
  • Provide clear and accessible information to customers about how to dispose of WEEE responsibly.

What is WEEE?

WEEE refers to waste from electrical and electronic equipment (EEE), such as:

  • IT and telecommunications equipment
  • Consumer electronics and audio-visual gear
  • Lighting equipment (e.g., fluorescent tubes)
  • Household appliances
  • Power tools and electric garden tools

Products marked with the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol must not be disposed of with general household waste.

How to Return WEEE to Us

If you purchase a new electrical item from Nexus Wholesale, you are entitled to return your old item of equivalent type for recycling.

Please note:
Customers are responsible for covering the cost of returning WEEE items to us. We do not offer free return postage or collection for old equipment.

To return WEEE:

  1. Contact us within 28 days of your purchase.
  2. Provide proof of your original order.
  3. Ship the old item to us at your own cost, securely packaged and clearly marked.

Important: Battery Return Restrictions

Due to postal and courier safety regulations, certain types of batteries (especially lithium batteries) may not be returned by mail. Customers are advised to check with their postal or courier service before returning any WEEE that contains batteries.

Loose lithium batteries or damaged batteries cannot be accepted by post. If your item contains such components, please contact us for further guidance.
